Caveman
Caveman is a move from 1981 that I use to watch all the time when I was a kid. It recently became available for instant view on netflix so I gave it a look. I could see why I would like it when I was a kid, but now its just to ridiculous and stupid to watch. I remembered a few parts of this film but one thing that did surprise me was who the leading role was. Ringo Starr, yes that Ringo Starr. It also stars a young Dennis Quaid and Shelly Long. Not many other recognizable faces though, although it does have a Barbara Bach who was a playboy model. You can tell who she is because she has really huge hair.
Check out this ridiculous trailer.
Throughout the movie Ringo, or Atouk, goes about discovering everything from fire to music. There is pretty much no dialog in this movie, there is only one person that speaks English. Everyone else just grunts and groans for over an hour. So if you are watching this move just be forewarned that someone in the next room might just think your watching a porno.
I think the part I remember the most from when I was a kid was when they discovered music. I bet in a few hundred years some historian will come across this clip and claim to have found a long lost Beatles track. Its great that they included the lyrics in the subtitle so you can sing along.
I'm not going to go and give this movie a full recommendation. If you have never see it before and like ridiculous films I would say check it out. Otherwise I bet you can find the best parts on youtube.
I'm just glad that Ringo did find work after the Beatles, I always wondered what he was up to.
