Joshua Tree Road Trip #4

Day 5 & 6
Big Sur to Disneyland

We woke up early Tuesday morning and made a quick breakfast. There was coffee, watermelon, and a egg, bacon, pepper, and onion scramble that we made breakfast burritos with.

It looked good.

I quickly shoved it in my mouth before the bluejays swarming around us could get it.

Then we packed up the truck and headed off towards LA.

We arrived in Anaheim Thursday evening and settled into the Little Blue Boy Motel just a few blocks away from Disneyland. We then grabbed some dinner at La Casa Garcia. We settled in pretty early so we could get lots of sleep so we had plenty of energy to run around Disneyland all the next day.

We got to the park a little bit after it opened and waited for David to come and get us into the park. Even though he was not playing in the park that day he was still kind enough to ride down and get us in.

I could hardly contain my excitement.

We waited in line for a short bit, the lines all day were light. The longest wait was around 40 minutes.

We finally got in

Then waited in another line

Here is the picture of us on the ride, as you can tell I'm about to sneeze

DSCN6810

We then wandered around for a bit

DSCN6812

We saw a cow

DSCN6819

Then we went on Big Thunder Mountain

DSCN6820

Then grabbed some lunch at the French Market and listened to the band

After lunch we went to the Haunted House and then the Indiana Jones ride, which shut down while we were on it. We were near the end and all of a sudden the car stopped and the lights came on. We sat there for about 10 minutes and it finally started back up again. Then when we got back to where you get off they let us stay on to go through the ride again, every one else in the car decided to get off so it then Carmel and I rode through by ourselves the second time.

We got off the Indiana Jones ride in one piece and decided to head over to California Adventure, but first we thought we would take the train around the park one time. It took a bit longer then we expected as they kept having engine problems at every station, I guess we had some bad luck.

DSCN6842

We said good bye to the Disneyland Park for a bit

DSCN6848

Then started exploring California Adventure

DSCN6856

It was pretty empty

DSCN6861

We saw the muppet show

DSCN6870

Then we went on the Hollywood Tower

DSCN6873

Someone was scared

DSCN6876

We hung out in California Adventure for awhile going on a few more rides and getting some ice cream then we decided to head back to the main park for the rest of our day.

DSCN6878

We wandered around some more

DSCN6880

Then looked at some stuff in the gift shops

DSCN6881

Carmel got it on with Mr. Toad

Then we finished off the day with a cup of tea

We had an amazing day at Disneyland. We left the park just before it got dark and grabbed some dinner before crashing in exhaustion at the Motel. The next day we would head East towards Joshua Tree with a few stops and adventures along the way.
